Programme expense ratio

Philanthropy requires just as much rigour as business. Because our scholars actively run our core operational workstreams, we do not rely on a large administrative staff base. This allows us to maintain a deliberately lean, highly efficient operating model. We target a programme expense ratio of 85 to 90 percent.

Major charity evaluators generally expect at least 65 percent of funds to reach the programme level, with ratios in the 70s earning high marks. Operating at 85 to 90 percent places the Mighty Minds Movement well above common sector benchmarks. It ensures that the vast majority of your funding goes directly towards scholar development, university readiness, and career exposure.

The Full Scholar Trajectory Approx. ZAR 90,000

Funds one full scholar place in the programme. Based on current averages, this covers the capital required to support a scholar's three-year journey from Grade 10 through Matric. It provides the school fees, transport, software, job-shadowing, and leadership structure they need to succeed.

The Enduring Place Approx. ZAR 750,000
/ EUR 37,500

Creates one enduring place in the Mighty Minds Movement. Added to our endowment, this generates enough yield to continually fund one additional space, forever. As one scholar graduates, the next student is funded through the yield of your original gift.
