Pathways

Talent is equally distributed. Access is not.

Connecting under-resourced students directly with global leaders in tech, finance, law, and entrepreneurship.

Why Pathways

You cannot aim for a room you do not know exists.

The Pathways Signature Speaker Series exists because talent without access stalls. We do not just teach leadership; we show students what is actually out there, helping them discover which paths feel worth pursuing.

In under-resourced communities, top-performing students are often exposed to too narrow a set of career options, usually traditional roles like doctor, accountant, or lawyer. Yet even those familiar professions are changing rapidly, while representing only a small slice of the modern economy.

The Pathways Series exists to broaden that field of vision. It extends the Mighty Minds Movement's exposure model to many more students beyond our core scholar cohort. In partnership with a growing network of schools, we provide a high-impact glimpse into the real professional world.

Pathways is about a student hearing a global executive explain their job and suddenly realising, "That sounds like me." It teaches students that a love for mathematics does not mean you have to become a maths teacher. It means you can build a trajectory in fintech, venture capital, private equity, or digital infrastructure.

How It Works

No filters. No lectures. Just real conversations.

Pathways is not a passive webinar. It is a scholar-led, live online conversation series built around serious preparation and real engagement.

At age 15, Mighty Minds scholar Bianca took ownership of the Pathways Series. Having successfully built the infrastructure, she has now advanced to the role of Pathways Workstream Lead, handing the daily operational execution over to our newest scholar, Siyolise.

Together, they are responsible for researching the global executives, preparing the briefing materials, and moderating the live online sessions. Under their leadership, large cohorts of students engage in direct, unfiltered Q&A sessions with CEOs, Managing Directors, and Founders. Our students don't just listen; they question the strategies, failures, and pivotal decisions that shaped the careers of our guests.

What We Teach

The blueprint for a non-linear career.

While every speaker brings a unique industry perspective, the core lessons transcend specific job titles. We teach our students the structural realities of building a successful life.

01

Direction Over Destination

Students learn that their first career choice does not have to be their last. We encourage them to find a direction that fits their strengths, knowing that as they grow and the world changes, their specific job title will evolve with them.

02

The Power of Transferable Skills

Whether shifting from banking to tech or racing cars to global marketing, students learn that adaptability, problem-solving, and relationship-building matter far more than a rigid ten-year plan.

03

Resilience and Calculated Risk

Global founders and executives consistently emphasise that failure is not the opposite of success; it is a necessary data point. We teach students to cut their losses early, trust their instincts, and push beyond their comfort zones.

04

Building the "Bicycle Wheel" of Success

As Katlego Maphai shared, a career is just one spoke on the wheel. Health, relationships, and integrity must remain aligned for the wheel to turn. We focus on developing whole, grounded leaders.
